Sustainability

At Atheris, we believe meaningful progress includes how we operate, not just what we deliver. From our partnership to plant mangroves and restore critical ecosystems, to our fully remote, commute-free and paperless model, we’ve embedded environmental responsibility into our day-to-day. By embracing digital-first workflows and healthy work habits, we’re committed to minimising our footprint while maximising impact, for our clients, our team, and the planet.

Our Partnership

40,000 mangroves committed in Kenya.

We’re working with Veritree in an ongoing effort to support reforestation and help restore the natural ecosystems our communities depend on. We have pledged to plant 10,000 mangroves annually in Kenya as a commitment to the wellbeing of our planet.

Why mangroves?

Restoring forests. Restoring livelihoods.

Coastal communities in Eastern Africa depend on mangrove ecosystems for employment, livelihood, and nutrition. In recent decades these coastal areas have been urbanised at unprecedented rates, and mangroves were overexploited and over-harvested, destroying critical habitats and pushing communities further into poverty.

This project restores the mangrove forests to help coastal communities break the poverty cycle. The restored, biodiverse estuary provides fishing grounds and new income streams, including sustainable harvests, while stabilising coastlines as a vital line of defence during tropical storms.

Our Commitment

Remote-first. Sustainable by design.

Working remotely isn’t just great for flexibility, it’s great for the planet too. At Atheris, we’re proud to be completely remote, and we strive to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible.

  • No daily commute. Fewer emissions from cars.
  • No office space. Less energy consumption from heating, cooling, lighting, and garbage disposal.
  • Digital-first mindset. Minimal paper waste and sustainable operations.
  • Healthier work habits. Home-cooked meals rather than takeout and single-use plastics.

Remote work isn’t just about where we work — it’s about how we work, and we’re proud to do it sustainably.
